An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tehran is considering having the memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents of Iran and the United States. The remark came as Iran described ongoing diplomatic thinking around the format of any agreement between the two countries.
He also said Tehran will work with Oman to shape a mechanism for managing the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway linking the Gulf to the wider sea lanes. According to the spokesman, Iran will consult regional countries when needed as part of that process.
The spokesman added that Israel’s continued occupation of Lebanese territory would be regarded as a violation of the memorandum of understanding, and that the necessary steps would be taken in response. No timeline was given for any signing or further action.
