Ex-MK's Past Criticism of Netanyahu Resurfaces Amid Political Maneuvering
A video resurfaced on social media showing former Knesset Member Eli Goldschmidt, formerly of the Labor party and now placed on the Likud party's list, harshly criticizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the clip, Goldschmidt questioned Netanyahu's character and leadership, stating, "What are you made of, Prime Minister? You are blaming again. You blamed the defense establishment, now the protest leaders." He added, "What do you think about at night? There are thousands of families in Israel who cannot close their eyes because of the soldiers, their family members, who are fighting in the Gaza Strip and risking their lives." Goldschmidt concluded by asking, "Do you only think about yourself? What kind of person are you, Prime Minister?"
Since the outbreak of the war approximately three years ago, Goldschmidt has reportedly shifted his political and security stances. His current placement on the Likud list, secured through Netanyahu's reserved spot, has brought this past criticism back into public view.
