Ex-Labor MK Eli Goldschmidt Joins Likud, Citing Post-Oct. 7 Awakening

Former Knesset Member Eli Goldschmidt, previously affiliated with the Labor party, has been placed on the Likud party's list for the 26th Knesset. The Likud announced Goldschmidt's inclusion, stating that his decision followed the events of October 7th, which he described as a "sobering awakening." According to the Likud's statement, Goldschmidt now supports the positions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Likud party, and the "national camp." The party highlighted his years of residence in the Gaza envelope communities as a factor influencing his change of perspective.
