Bnei Sakhnin Faces Difficult Season Aiming for League Survival

Bnei Sakhnin suffered a second consecutive home defeat, losing 1-0 to Beitar Jerusalem on Monday, leaving the team with only one point after three matches in the current season. Despite not playing worse than their opponents, the team again failed to score. Only Hapoel Ramat Gan has fewer points.

A source within the club expressed significant disappointment, stating, "Our goal this season is to stay in the league." The source added that while the team began preparations early, a recent change in management has created instability. "We started building the team long before the end of last season, but the management changed and they are trying to stabilize while on the move."

Coach Yossi Abuksis surprised observers by not including midfielder Mustafa Sheikh Yusuf in the lineup, despite him starting the previous two games. The club is working to reach a compensation agreement with Angolan midfielder Norberto Carlos and is seeking to sign a new foreign right-back.

Additionally, former Sakhnin player Sahar Taji may return for a second stint with the club. Taji was not included in Maccabi Netanya's squad for their recent match and is not part of their plans for the season.
