Bnei Sakhnin Admits Team Is Unprepared for Upcoming League Season

Bnei Sakhnin suffered their second consecutive loss in the Toto Cup campaign on Saturday, falling 2-1 to Hapoel Haifa in Doha after conceding a late goal. Coach Yossi Abuksis fielded his strongest available lineup but relied mostly on young players from the bench. Recent signings Dmitri Kabra, Mostafa Sheikh Yosef, and Loui Khalaf were not included in the squad, while Juvier Boushank missed most training sessions last week and remains unavailable. The club expressed dissatisfaction with the team's performance, noting that the current results continue the disappointing trend from last season.

To strengthen the squad, Bnei Sakhnin plans to sign a foreign striker or right back, depending on whether a suitable Israeli candidate is found for the latter position. Additionally, the club aims to add three to four more Israeli players. After the match, club representatives acknowledged, "We are not ready for the league yet. Although this is only the Toto Cup, it is the time to test the lineup ahead of the league, and we hope that will happen soon."

Abuksis tested right back Roy Herman during the game, who failed to impress, while Mohammed Gnanama, who came off the bench, contributed to the equalizing goal and is expected to receive more opportunities in the league. The club is working to resolve Boushank's availability issue promptly as they prepare for the upcoming season.
