Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona Signs Romanian Striker Alexandru Pop
Romanian striker Alexandru Pop has agreed to terms with Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona, the team announced Saturday evening. The 26-year-old forward, who joins from Romanian club Dinamo București, has signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Pop is expected to bolster the team's offense and will join coach Shai Birman's squad after arriving in Israel, undergoing a medical examination, and officially signing the contract. He began the current season with Dinamo București, where he scored one goal and provided one assist in eight league matches. Last season, he netted five goals and added two assists for the same club.
Pop had his breakout season three years ago with Romanian side Oțelul Galați, scoring 11 goals and assisting three. He primarily plays as a striker.
