Bnei Sakhnin Signs Romanian Goalkeeper Raul Balbreau for One Season
Bnei Sakhnin officially announced the signing of Romanian goalkeeper Raul Balbreau on July 26, 2026. The 25-year-old, who played the last two seasons with Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania, signed a one-year contract with an option to extend for two additional seasons. Balbreau is the club's fourth foreign signing this summer.
Balbreau has experience with several Romanian clubs, including the fan-based team of Steaua Bucharest, which split from FCSB. He also had stints with Debrecen in Hungary and Noah in Armenia. Internationally, he made one appearance for Romania's under-21 national team.
In the previous season with Petrolul, Balbreau played 30 matches, conceding 36 goals and keeping seven clean sheets. His team finished 12th in the Romanian league, narrowly avoiding relegation by three points near the end of the season.
