Bnei Sakhnin Signs Romanian Goalkeeper Raul Balbreau for One Season
Bnei Sakhnin officially announced the signing of Romanian goalkeeper Raul Balbreau on July 26, 2026. Balbreau, 25, joins the Israeli Premier League club on a one-year contract with an option to extend for two additional seasons. He is the fourth foreign player to join Sakhnin this summer.
Balbreau previously played for Petrolul Ploiești in Romania's top league for the past two seasons, making 30 appearances last season. During that time, he conceded 36 goals and kept seven clean sheets. His team finished 12th in the league, narrowly avoiding relegation by a three-point margin.
Before Petrolul, Balbreau played for several Romanian clubs, including the fan-owned team of Steaua Bucharest, and had stints abroad with Debrecen in Hungary and Noah in Armenia. He also earned one cap for Romania's under-21 national team.
Bnei Sakhnin aims to strengthen its squad with Balbreau as a key addition to the goalkeeper position ahead of the new season.
