Israeli Democrats Urge Arab Voters to Turnout to Prevent Netanyahu's Re-election

The Israeli political party "The Democrats," led by Yair Golan, is intensifying its efforts to boost voter turnout among the Arab population ahead of the October 27th Knesset elections. The party has released messages translated into Arabic, aiming to persuade Arab citizens of the impact their participation can have on the election outcome.

In a video message specifically targeting Arab voters, Yair Golan stated, "If you go out to vote on October 27th, Netanyahu will not be prime minister. But if you do not go out to vote, he will be prime minister." He further emphasized, "If you do not go out to vote, it is as if you have given your vote to Netanyahu. The power is in your hands."

Member of Knesset Gilad Kariv echoed this sentiment in his own message, also translated into Arabic. Kariv warned that abstaining from voting effectively aids the incumbent government. He specifically addressed first-time voters, urging them not to support what he termed the "racist fascist" Itamar Ben-Gvir, stating, "Whoever does not go out to vote is actually voting for Ben-Gvir. Do not give this racist fascist this prize."

Kariv also extended New Year greetings and outlined his vision for political change following the elections. He expressed a desire for "The Democrats" to be part of the next government, linking this to his calls for equal burden-sharing and societal equality. This includes equality between Jews and Arabs, different Jewish denominations, and in the field of education.
