Democratic Party MK Naama Lazimi Calls for Arab Voter Turnout to Oust Right-Wing Government

Naama Lazimi, a member of the Democratic Party in Israel's Knesset, is urging the Arab public to increase voter turnout in the upcoming elections to help remove the current right-wing government. In an interview with the Israeli-Arab channel HaLa TV, Lazimi emphasized that a high Arab voter turnout would help "throw out the fascists and racists." She predicted that her party would become the second largest in the next Knesset, potentially winning 15 seats and joining the coalition government formed after the elections.

Lazimi criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for revitalizing Hamas, with Turkey and Qatar supporting the group, and accused his coalition partners of inciting a third intifada in the West Bank. She stressed that the only viable path forward is a political agreement with the Palestinians, starting with separation and eventually leading to peace. "We have not given up on peace," Lazimi said, adding that the next government could take steps to build the infrastructure for a long-term political settlement. She declared that the Democratic Party would lead this effort, stating, "There is no other option."
