Maccabi Haifa Fan Group Failed to Reconcile with Player Yarin Levi

The "Green Monkeys," Maccabi Haifa's main fan organization, revealed on Monday that attempts to reconcile with player Yarin Levi, who rejoined the team last summer, were unsuccessful. Levi had previously refused to sing against his former club, Beitar Jerusalem, during an open practice, leading the fan group to withhold support during the initial games of the season.

The organization explained their policy, stating that players arriving from major rivals typically do not receive immediate encouragement. They clarified that they do not prevent the wider fanbase from supporting such players, but their own approach is to observe. "This is our approach, this is our choice, and there's no need to make a mountain out of a molehill," the group stated.

Regarding Levi specifically, the fan group admitted they approached him before the team's training camp to "straighten things out and start with a clean slate" following his actions at Beitar. "This reconciliation was unsuccessful, and unfortunately, we cannot elaborate further at this stage, but this is the current situation: we are not cheering, and we are not cursing," they concluded.
