Maccabi Haifa Fans Bar Player Yarin Levi From Chants Over Past Slogans

The "Green Monkeys," the main fan organization for Maccabi Haifa, announced that player Yarin Levi will not receive chants from their section due to "hate songs" he allegedly sang while playing for rival team Beitar Jerusalem. Levi, who returned to Maccabi Haifa this summer after a two-year loan spell at Beitar, had previously been deemed unwanted by Maccabi Haifa.

During his time with Beitar, Levi reportedly sang derogatory songs against Maccabi Haifa. The "Green Monkeys" stated they attempted to resolve the issue with Levi before the season began, but the clarification talks were unsuccessful. The organization emphasized that while they will not chant for Levi, they will not curse him either and will not prevent other fans from cheering for him.

Levi's return to Maccabi Haifa has been contentious, with reports of Beitar Jerusalem considering his reacquisition following his absence from a recent match. However, Levi recently signed a three-year contract extension with Maccabi Haifa. Coach Barak Bakhar reportedly values Levi and fought to keep him at the club, indicating he does not intend to let the player go easily.
