Tiberias Lakeshore Cities Union Affirms All Beaches Remain Open After Child's Infection

The Tiberias Lakeshore Cities Union announced on Monday that all beaches along the Sea of Galilee remain open to the public, with no directives issued for their closure. The union emphasized that the lake's waters are flowing, not stagnant, and that the Water Authority and Ministry of Health conduct regular water quality tests at the beaches.

Yossi Naffa, Mayor of Tiberias and head of the union, stated, "The beaches of the Sea of Galilee are open to the public, and there are no instructions to close any of the beaches. Hotels, resorts, campsites, and attractions are ready and awaiting thousands of visitors during the upcoming holidays."

He added, "We hope visitors will come and enjoy safe swimming in the Sea of Galilee, and we ask the public to follow the Ministry of Health's instructions." The statement comes amid reports of a child contracting a brain-eating amoeba infection, though the union did not directly link the child's condition to the lake's beaches.
