Moshe Louk Releases New Rendition of Rosh Hashanah Piyut

Arutz ShevaRight
Translated & summarized from Arutz Sheva by baba
The story · English

Singer Moshe Louk has released a new performance of the piyut "Et Sha'arei Ratzon" (When Gates of Will), a prayer from the Rosh Hashanah liturgy. The lyrics were written by Rabbi Yehuda Abbas, with a traditional folk melody. Louk himself produced the rendition, while Bibi Edri handled the musical arrangement, production, keyboards, and programming. The piyut includes the lines, "When the gates of will are to be opened, a day I will spread my palms to God." The recurring refrain is "the one who binds, the one who was bound, and the altar."

Additional contributions to the production include Shi Assaig on further programming, and Michel Assaig on clarinet and flute. The backing vocals were performed by Bibi Edri, Ben Edri, and Dudu Biton. The release comes ahead of the High Holidays, during which this piyut is traditionally recited.
