West Bank Resident Arrested for Stealing District Court Judge's Car
Police in Tel Aviv arrested a resident of Jenin, in his 40s, who was illegally present in Israel, on suspicion of stealing the vehicle belonging to District Court Judge Alaa Massarweh. The arrest occurred on Sunday after police spotted the suspected stolen vehicle traveling north on Highway 1. Officers from the Tel Aviv North and Glilot stations pursued the car, with Glilot officers preparing to set up a roadblock on Highway 5. When the vehicle reached the roadblock, the suspect did not respond to police calls. Officers then intentionally broke the driver's side window to apprehend him. The suspect, identified as a Jenin resident in his 40s staying in Israel illegally, was taken for questioning. The stolen vehicle was returned to Judge Massarweh. The suspect's detention was extended by the court until September 8, 2026.
