Wizz Air Adds 46 Weekly Flights From Israel to European Destinations

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced a significant expansion of its operations in Israel, adding 46 weekly flights from Tel Aviv. This expansion includes the reintroduction of five routes and increased frequencies on 11 existing routes.

The newly reinstated routes are Catania, Sicily, with four weekly flights; London Gatwick, with five weekly flights; Venice, with three weekly flights; and Cluj and Iasi, each with two weekly flights. These routes will operate alongside increased frequencies on popular destinations such as Budapest, Milan, Rome, Athens, and Warsaw.

Wizz Air is boosting its service to Budapest from 14 to 21 weekly flights and doubling its Milan service from seven to 14 weekly flights. Other routes seeing increased frequency include Rome (from 12 to 14 weekly flights), Bucharest (from 11 to 14), Bratislava (from five to seven), Naples (from five to seven), Athens (from five to seven), Vilnius (from two to four), Sofia (from six to seven), Varna (from two to three), and Warsaw (from four to five).

Flights are now available for booking on the Wizz Air website and app. The airline noted that one-way tickets to London Gatwick were available for 70 euros, Venice for 60 euros, and Rome for 56 euros for specific dates in October, excluding baggage fees. This expansion by Wizz Air aligns with a broader trend of renewed international activity at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV).

Other airlines are also increasing their presence, with Delta Air Lines having resumed flights between New York and Tel Aviv. United Airlines is set to return on September 8 with two daily flights from Newark, and Israir will launch a new route to New York on September 15. In Europe, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will restart its direct route between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen on October 26 with four weekly flights.
