Israel Railways Adjusts Schedules for Rosh Hashanah and Selichot
Israel Railways has announced schedule changes to accommodate passengers during the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday and the preceding Selichot penitential prayers. On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Friday, September 11, 2026, passenger trains will operate between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM, following a Friday schedule. Additionally, the Haifa-Tel Aviv line will see increased service with two trains per hour in each direction, up from the usual one. Trains on the Hadera East-Rosh HaAyin North line will run once per hour in each direction.
Train service will resume on the evening of Sunday, September 13, 2026, starting at 9:30 PM, operating on a Saturday night schedule. The Hadera East-Rosh HaAyin North line will also see enhanced service on this evening.
To facilitate travel to Jerusalem during the Selichot period, night train services between Herzliya and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon station (extended from the usual stop at Ben Gurion Airport) will be extended on the nights of Tuesday-Wednesday, September 8-9, and Tuesday-Wednesday, September 15-16, 2026.
