Israel Railways Announces Rosh Hashanah Schedule Changes
Israel Railways has announced significant schedule adjustments for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah holiday, aiming to accommodate anticipated high passenger demand. The state-owned company will operate a special timetable featuring increased service on the eve and conclusion of the holiday.
On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, Friday, September 11, 2026, train services will run approximately between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM, mirroring a Friday schedule but with enhanced frequency. Specifically, the Haifa-Tel Aviv line will see two trains per hour in each direction, doubling the usual frequency. Additionally, the Hadera East-Rosh HaAyin North line will operate one train per hour in each direction.
Train operations will resume on Sunday, September 13, 2026, starting around 9:30 PM. The service on this day will follow a Saturday evening schedule, with added service on the Hadera East-Rosh HaAyin North line.
Furthermore, to facilitate travel to Jerusalem during the Selichot prayers period, night train services between Herzliya and Jerusalem's Yitzhak Navon station (extended from the usual stop at Ben Gurion Airport) will be prolonged on the nights of Tuesday-Wednesday, September 8-9 and September 15-16, 2026.
