Belz Hasidim to Pray in New Location for High Holidays Amid Leader's Hospitalization

Thousands of Belz Hasidic yeshiva students will pray in a special minyan at the 'Groisse Shtub' (Great Dining Hall) during Rosh Hashanah services this year, due to overcrowding in the main sanctuary. The decision was announced by Rabbi Shalom Rokeach, the eldest grandson of the Rebbe, following the recitation of Psalms on the first day of Selichot. According to the plan, the Rebbe, Rabbi Issachar Dov, will lead the morning prayers for the students in the Groisse Shtub on both days of Rosh Hashanah, while the Musaf (additional) prayers will be held in the main sanctuary.

The announcement comes as the Belz Rebbe, Rabbi Issachar Dov ben Miriam, was hospitalized for a series of tests. He reportedly felt unwell this morning and missed the initial Selichot prayers, an event he has not missed since assuming leadership. His son, Rabbi Aharon Mordechai Rokeach, led the prayers in his stead. The Rebbe is expected to remain in the hospital until Tuesday morning. Followers worldwide have been reciting Psalms for his complete recovery.
