Belz Rebbe's Grandson Announces Separate High Holiday Prayers for Thousands of Students

Rabbi Shalom Rokeach, the eldest grandson of the Belz Hasidic dynasty's Rebbe, has announced a significant change to the High Holiday prayer services for thousands of young students. Due to severe overcrowding in the main sanctuary, it was decided, with the Rebbe's approval, that the students will pray in a separate minyan this year.

The new arrangement will see thousands of students praying the Rosh Hashanah services in the 'Groyse Shtube' (Great Study Hall). The Rebbe himself will join them for the morning (Shacharit) prayers in the Groyse Shtube. For the Musaf (additional) service, the Rebbe will move to the main sanctuary to pray with the wider congregation, while the students will remain in their separate minyan.

Hasidic sources described the decision as a welcome initiative and a necessary step to alleviate immense crowding. In recent years, there has been physically no room to accommodate all the students and married scholars (avreichim) in the main sanctuary, causing significant discomfort.

In related news, the public has been urged to pray for the recovery of the Belz Rebbe, Rabbi Yissachar Dov, who was hospitalized earlier today due to weakness.
