Israeli Teen Falsely Reports Kidnapping After Entering Palestinian Village

Police and IDF forces were scrambled early this morning to the Palestinian village of Hizme following a distress call from a minor claiming he and two others were being kidnapped. The three Israelis, two teenagers aged 15 and a man in his 40s, all from Jerusalem, were found unharmed shortly after the report. The initial call to police dispatch included the panicked statement, "Get here fast, they are kidnapping us." Numerous security forces, including IDF troops, were deployed to the area. Police utilized technological and operational means to locate the individuals, who were eventually found near the village by officers from the Binyamin station. They were then taken to the police station for questioning.

During the investigation, a different picture emerged, according to police. Authorities allege the three entered the village voluntarily to party and, fearing the consequences of their actions, fabricated the kidnapping report. The individuals were questioned under caution on suspicion of filing a false report, a serious offense, and for violating legal orders prohibiting entry into Palestinian villages. Following their interrogation, they were brought before a judge and released under restrictive conditions. Police stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
