National Security Committee Chair Tzvika Fogel Won't Run for Knesset

Tzvika Fogel, the chairman of the Knesset's National Security Committee, announced Sunday that he will not be a candidate in the upcoming election for the "Otzma Yehudit" party list. Fogel stated that the path to continuing his work in the Knesset or a future government is not possible as he had planned, leading to his decision not to run for the 26th Knesset.

He expressed his honor in representing the people of Israel and serving as chairman of the National Security Committee, and his privilege of being part of the Otzma Yehudit party. Fogel added that he has dedicated himself in recent years to the nation and the state, particularly in ensuring Israel's strength following a "terrible disaster," a likely reference to the October 7th Hamas attack.

Fogel wished his colleagues in the party great success and affirmed his commitment to continue working for the people and the country in any way possible, stating that while one chapter is closing, his mission continues.
