Demolition Order Issued for Unauthorized Complex Near Rabbi Amos Guetta's Grave
The Israel Land Authority has issued a demolition order for an illegal structure built by students of Rabbi Amos Guetta, z"l, near his grave in the Netanya cemetery. The unauthorized construction spans approximately 1,400 square meters and was intended for around 900 public graves, reportedly encroaching on cemetery grounds.
The complex was erected without permits and in violation of the land's designated use. The Authority clarified that the order targets the construction adjacent to the grave, not the grave itself, and stems from an investigation into land appropriation and construction activities.
"Illegal construction will not become a fait accompli," stated the Israel Land Authority. "The Authority will act decisively to remove the construction and restore the area to its original state for the public benefit. The Authority will continue to act against illegal construction in public spaces and will use all enforcement tools at its disposal."
Rabbi Guetta was murdered two months prior by a mentally disturbed individual who stabbed him multiple times at his home.
