Hundreds Gather in Netanya to Unveil Tombstone for Rabbi Amos Guetta

Following the tragic passing of Rabbi Amos Guetta, a revered tzaddik and head of the Rabbi Chai Taib Lo Met yeshiva, hundreds of his students and followers gathered at his gravesite in the 'Vatikim' cemetery in Netanya to unveil a new tombstone. The ceremony took place on Monday, marking the conclusion of the traditional seven-day mourning period (shiva), and included prayers, selichot, and shofar blowing.

The tombstone inscription honors Rabbi Guetta as a spiritual leader and comforter of the Jewish diaspora, noting his lifelong devotion to Torah and his refusal to sleep in a bed for nearly 40 years. The gravesite has since become a pilgrimage site, with continuous visitors day and night. To accommodate this, organizers have installed lighting, tents, and provide refreshments around the clock.

During the shiva, numerous prominent rabbis delivered eulogies and inspirational talks at Rabbi Guetta's yeshiva in Netanya, including Rabbi David Yosef, Rabbi Binyamin Shmueli, Rabbi Yitzchak Ades, and others. Plans are underway to continue these gatherings beyond the shiva period, with ongoing classes and study sessions throughout the day.

Additionally, a large prayer hall and a Torah study hall with accommodations for scholars are planned to be constructed adjacent to the gravesite, aiming to serve the wider community and honor Rabbi Guetta's legacy.
