Demolition Order Issued for Illegal Construction Near Rabbi Amos Guetta's Grave in Netanya

The Israel Land Authority has issued a demolition order for illegal construction in a compound adjacent to the grave of Rabbi Amos Guetta in Netanya. The Authority stated that the area is designated for public burial and that they will not permit land appropriation.

The order was served after enforcement officials discovered extensive construction without permits or adherence to the applicable land plan. The illegally built area spans approximately 1,400 square meters and is intended for public use as a burial ground. Part of the construction even extends beyond the cemetery's boundaries.

The Authority emphasized that the demolition order targets the construction in the adjacent area, not Rabbi Guetta's grave itself, and is part of efforts to reclaim the land. "Illegal construction will not become a fait accompli," the Authority declared, vowing to remove the structures and restore the area for public benefit. They affirmed their commitment to combating illegal construction in public spaces using all available enforcement tools.

Rabbi Amos Guetta was tragically murdered in his Netanya home on July 1, 2026. Known as a Kabbalist and philanthropist, he was stabbed to death. The suspect was apprehended after a police pursuit.
