Rotem Sela Joins Board of Disabilities Advocacy Group

Israeli presenter and actress Rotem Sela has taken on a new volunteer role as a member of the board of directors for the "Shavim" (Equals) association, which advocates for people with disabilities and their families. The appointment was officially approved, adding to Sela's recent ventures, which include launching her own line of nutritional supplements.

Sela's involvement with "Shavim" follows her hosting of "Special Interview" on Keshet 12, a program where a group of autistic interviewers engage with celebrities. Sela stated that her experience on the show highlighted the power of giving people a platform to speak for themselves. "I am happy to join Shavim and contribute my time, experience, and tools to expand the space, opportunities, and influence of people with disabilities in Israeli society," she said.

The "Shavim" association, founded in 2019 by journalist Idan Motola, operates a news website focused on the lives of people with disabilities and aims to influence policy. Motola commented that Sela brings significant experience in media and a deep understanding of the importance of integrating people with disabilities into society. He cited her push for "Special Interview" to air during prime time as an example of her commitment and expressed confidence that she will be a valuable asset to the growing organization.
