Hili Tropper Seeks Alliance, Sets Terms for Political Unity

Hili Tropper has recently held discussions with Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yachad party, and Naftali Bennett, head of the Bayit Yehudi party, to explore potential alliances ahead of the upcoming elections. Tropper has not yet decided whether to run independently or join forces with one of these parties, according to Israeli radio reports on Sunday. A key condition for any agreement, Tropper stated, is securing Knesset seats for his partners in the newly formed "Zionist House" party, including Yoaz Hendel, Shira Shapira, and Elissaf Beretz.

Tropper faces a strategic dilemma between the two parties. Eisenkot's party might offer actual seats for his partners but is reportedly unwilling to accept them as a distinct bloc. Bennett's party, conversely, may be more amenable to incorporating them as a faction, but current polls suggest insufficient seats for all four individuals. Associates of Tropper anticipate that the final decision on running alone or uniting with another party will be postponed until the last moment, just before candidate lists for the Knesset are finalized.

Tropper and Hendel established "Zionist House" in early July 2026, aiming to create a new political force based on collective action, free from internal divisions within the Zionist camp. Tropper has previously asserted that the next government should exclusively comprise Zionist parties and expressed openness to joining any candidate who shares this vision. He has also ruled out participating in a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu due to his reliance on Haredi parties, though he indicated a willingness to join a unity government involving both Eisenkot and Netanyahu.
