Gadi Eisenkot's Party Poised to Merge with Hili Tropper's Faction

With just two days remaining until party lists must be finalized for the upcoming Knesset elections, a significant political realignment is reportedly underway. According to a report by Anna Barzilai in "Maariv," Hili Tropper and Shira Shapira are on the verge of uniting with Gadi Eisenkot's "Yisrael" party. The final decision of Eliassaf Peretz remains unclear.

Barzilai suggests this potential merger represents a considerable achievement for the bloc opposing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She argues that Tropper's addition would complete a political maneuver that has weakened Benny Gantz, by creating a strong center-right list capable of potentially forming a coalition with Netanyahu post-election. This is seen as a victory for the "change bloc."

However, Eisenkot is not the only political figure vying for Tropper's allegiance. Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with Tropper last Friday, attempting to persuade him to join Bennett's party. Meanwhile, in a separate development, the High Court of Justice summarily rejected a petition by Bogi Ya'alon.
