Merav Ben Ari Reacts to Knesset Election Slot, Shares Personal Struggles

Member of Knesset Merav Ben Ari has broken her silence following her placement high on the "Yesh Atid" list for the 26th Knesset. Ben Ari secured the second position on the "Yesh Atid" list and fourth on the unified "Achva" list. She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and messages she has received since the announcement, stating her phone has been "exploding with exciting, supportive, and loving messages."

Ben Ari, who previously chaired the Knesset's Interior Committee, thanked party leader Yair Lapid for his trust, calling him a "true friend and leader." Her political career has seen its challenges. In a previous interview, she described a difficult period when she left politics for civilian life, facing financial hardship as a single mother struggling to secure a mortgage.

She recounted the harsh reality for politicians between terms, noting that "politicians are kicked out of here," leaving them with "nothing." Ben Ari explained that her two-year hiatus from politics served as a "serious slap" that ultimately led to financial recovery. She detailed signing with an employment agency for six months with no income, but eventually found success in her second year out of the Knesset.

Now returning to a prominent position on the list for the upcoming elections, Ben Ari hinted at future endeavors, stating, "I still have a lot to say and many more people I owe thanks to. This is for now, more to come."
