Pizza Shop Owner Closes for Business to Feed IDF Soldiers

Tomer Dadon, owner of the "Pizza HaGesher" pizzeria in Be'er Sheva, closed his establishment for regular customers for several hours this week to prepare and deliver 300 pizzas to a returning IDF battalion. The soldiers were on their way back from a grueling march and Dadon decided to fund the entire operation, costing thousands of shekels, as a gesture of appreciation. The effort took approximately six hours, during which many customers attempted to enter the closed shop. Dadon's act is highlighted as a reminder of the community's support for soldiers.

In a separate initiative, high school students at the Ben Gurion Educational Institute in Petah Tikva chose to spend their first afternoon of the school year cleaning the school grounds. Students from the chemistry track spontaneously organized the cleanup, tidying the entrance plaza, stairs, and even the teachers' lounge. This action contrasts with the typical post-school activities for students on the first day.

Additionally, Elad Tadmor, commander of the late Major Zecharya Heber, who fell in Gaza, continues a touching tradition. Every year on the first day of school, Tadmor and his partner travel from near Nahariya to the settlement of Neve Daniel in Gush Etzion. They accompany each of Heber's children to their first day of school, a gesture demonstrating the strong, enduring bond between commanders and the families of fallen soldiers.
