Police in northern Israel arrested a man from Khan Younis in Tamra after a foot chase, then filed an indictment and requested detention until the end of proceedings. The suspect was identified as an illegal resident who was found hiding in bushes near homes.
According to the Israel Police, officers from the Northern District and Border Police operated in Tamra over the weekend. During the operation, they spotted a suspicious vehicle and began checking its details. Nearby, they noticed a suspect fleeing into open ground.
The officers pursued him on foot and managed to detain him while he was hiding among the bushes close to residential houses. He was taken for questioning at a police station.
His detention was extended by the Haifa Magistrate’s Court. After the investigation ended, police submitted an indictment against him together with a request to keep him in custody until the legal proceedings are completed.
