Driver Charged Astronomical Parking Fee in Tel Aviv Lot

A young musician in Tel Aviv was presented with an exorbitant parking fee of 13,040 shekels after leaving his car in a city lot for only 30 minutes. Nati Bar Cohen, who had parked to meet friends following his debut performance, was shocked by the astronomical sum displayed on the payment machine.

Bar Cohen recounted his experience on the program "Chaim VeMaayan," explaining the steps he took to resolve the situation. "I said I'll stay here all night, I'm not paying this," he stated. After being bounced between the police and the municipality, he devised a workaround. He asked a passerby to enter and exit the lot, paying the initial entry fee for them, and then left the lot together with the stranger.

While Bar Cohen has since made light of the incident, the program's host, Maayan Adam, expressed that she would have sought compensation, stating, "If I'm dying to get home, exhausted, after a performance and because of this stupidity I'm stuck for an hour in the parking lot and have to go out and ask people for favors, I want compensation."
