Duvdevan Unit Foils Terror Attack, Arrests Five Plotters

Duvdevan unit soldiers apprehended a cell of five terrorists in the Kabatiya area of northern Samaria early Friday morning. The operatives were reportedly planning an attack against Israeli civilians and security forces. The operation followed intelligence efforts by the Shin Bet security agency.

The soldiers, acting on intelligence, located the suspects and made the arrests within ten minutes of entering the suspected locations. A search of the terrorists' homes uncovered and confiscated an M16 rifle and additional weaponry. The apprehended individuals were transferred for further interrogation by security forces.

Following the operation, Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, spoke with Colonel Matan Feldman, commander of the Menashe Brigade, commending the swift and decisive actions of the Duvdevan unit, the Shin Bet, and the brigade. Dagan stated that the area, following the disengagement from northern Samaria, had become a breeding ground for terrorism that spread throughout Israel.

He further asserted that decisive IDF operations in refugee camps in Jenin and Tulkarm, coupled with the expansion of Israeli settlements in northern Samaria, would restore security to the entire country. Dagan expressed support for the IDF and security agencies, declaring that terrorists would not defeat the Israeli people or expel them from the region, and vowed to establish more settlements in Samaria.
