Duvdevan Unit Captures Terror Cell Planning Attack
Israeli special forces from the Duvdevan unit apprehended a five-member terrorist cell in the Kabatiya area, under the command of the Menashe Brigade, early Friday morning. The operation followed intelligence efforts by the Shin Bet security agency. The cell was reportedly planning an attack against Israeli civilians and security forces.
During a special operation, the Duvdevan fighters located and arrested the suspects within ten minutes of entering the suspected locations. A search of the terrorists' homes uncovered an M16 rifle and additional weaponry that had been hidden. The apprehended individuals were transferred to security forces for further investigation.
In a separate incident earlier Friday, Border Police officers neutralized a terrorist who attempted to stab civilians near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The 33-year-old attacker, a resident of the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem, arrived on a motorcycle around 3:45 AM and attempted to stab people near the gate. Civilians managed to escape and alerted Israeli police. No Israeli forces were harmed in the Jerusalem incident.
