Roy Revivo Joins Elche, Calls Spanish League a Dream Come True

Israeli footballer Roy Revivo was officially presented as a new player for Spanish club Elche on Friday, following his transfer before the European transfer window closed. At a press conference, Revivo spoke to the local media for the first time since joining the team.

Elche's Argentinian CEO, Pedro Sciunka, expressed gratitude to Revivo for choosing the club and highlighted the player's strong desire to be part of their project. Sciunka also thanked Revivo's father, Haim, for his significant role in facilitating the transfer. The CEO described Revivo, a 23-year-old left-back who plays for the Israeli national team, as a player who generated very positive feelings from the start and was a top priority during the transfer window, having reportedly rejected other offers to join Elche.

Revivo himself stated that while he had many offers, playing in the Spanish league was a "dream come true" and he was prepared to work hard. He mentioned that many Elche fans had contacted him, expressing warmth and encouraging his move, which he found important. He also referenced his father's wish for him to surpass his own career achievements.

Addressing his physical condition and the lengthy negotiations with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Revivo stated his focus is on playing and adapting to the higher pace and quality of La Liga. He believes he is fit to play and acknowledged the need for hard work to adjust, despite having prior European-level experience. He described himself as a hard-working, technical player with room for improvement.

While he has not yet played, Revivo observed that the pace in La Liga is very high and the players are superior, expressing his eagerness to compete. He also shared his positive impressions of Elche's early season games and their style of play, and mentioned a brief, positive interaction with coach Martín Anselmi.
