Yesh Atid Founder Karin Elharrar Will Not Run for Knesset

Knesset Member Karin Elharrar, a founding member of the Yesh Atid party and former Minister of Energy, announced on Tuesday that she will not be running on the party's list for the upcoming Knesset elections. Elharrar, who joined party chairman Yair Lapid 14 years ago, stated in a message to party members that she decided to move on to a new challenge after consulting with her family and achieving significant legislative successes, including for women, children, and at-risk youth. She emphasized that she is not leaving politics and remains committed to Yesh Atid, calling it her political home.

Elharrar's departure follows a wave of other Knesset members from Yesh Atid who have announced they will not seek re-election, including Debi Biton, Tatiana Mazursky, Mickey Levy, Meir Cohen, and Elazar Stern. Elharrar's exit carries significant symbolic weight as she was the last remaining founding member of the party, besides Lapid himself.

Yair Lapid responded to Elharrar's announcement with a warm farewell post on social media, praising her as a "true fighter for the public" and thanking her for her friendship and shared journey since the party's inception. He affirmed that she would always be part of the Yesh Atid family.
