Karin Elharrar Quits Knesset, Latest in Yesh Atid Exodus

Member of Knesset Karin Elharrar announced on Thursday that she will not be running in the upcoming Knesset elections. In her statement, Elharrar explained that after achieving her goals, she decided, following consultation with her family, to move on to a new challenge. Despite her departure from the electoral race, she affirmed her continued commitment to the Yesh Atid party, stating it is her political home and that she will participate in the upcoming election campaign.

Elharrar's resignation follows a wave of departures from Yesh Atid. Previously, MKs Mickey Levy, Boaz Toporovsky, Ron Katz, and Meir Cohen announced their departures. MKs Yoav Segalovitz and Eleazar Stern announced they would run with other parties, Ra'am and Yisrael, respectively.

Sources within Yesh Atid expressed growing frustration ahead of party leader Yair Lapid's announcement of the list placements for the upcoming elections, expected Saturday night. One incumbent MK told Kan News that the campaign is being managed by "Bennett's people," with veteran Yesh Atid lawmakers largely excluded from the process. The MK also noted that mistakes made during the campaign have not been rectified.
