Foreign Investment in Israel Surges Amid Global Downturn
Foreign direct investment (FDI) into Israel experienced a dramatic surge in 2025, reaching $26.2 billion, a significant 78% increase from the $14.8 billion recorded in 2024. This growth stands in stark contrast to global trends, where FDI saw only a modest 6% rise worldwide and a 6% average decrease among OECD countries. Israel's performance placed it 8th among OECD nations for absolute investment volume and 7th in investment relative to its GDP.
The value of announced M&A deals also soared by 65% to $36.6 billion in 2025, surpassing the previous record set in 2021, despite a slight decrease in the number of deals. The United States was the dominant source of investment, accounting for approximately 90% of the total, with European countries contributing about 7%.
