Three Israeli Defense Giants Rank Among World's Top 30 Military Producers

Three major Israeli defense companies have secured spots within the top 30 global manufacturers of military products, according to the Defense News 2026 ranking. The ranking is based on defense sales revenue from 2025. Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems are the Israeli firms included.

Elbit Systems achieved the highest position among the Israeli companies, ranking 21st, maintaining its standing from the previous year. In 2025, Elbit Systems reported a total revenue of $7.939 billion, with $7.413 billion specifically from defense sales. The company produces a wide array of weaponry and military systems, including artillery and mortar systems, rocket launchers, guided missiles, and ammunition for ground forces. Notable products include the ATMOS self-propelled howitzer, the Iron Sting precision guided munition, ACCULAR rockets, and the Iron Fist active protection system for armored vehicles. Elbit also manufactures loitering munitions, remote control systems, and aerial weapons.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) placed 27th, moving up one position from the prior year. IAI's total revenue reached $7.384 billion, with defense sales accounting for $6.411 billion.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems climbed from 31st to 30th place, reporting defense revenue of $6.280 billion, which was also its total revenue. Rafael is particularly recognized for its missile and air defense systems, including contributions to the Iron Dome and David's Sling systems. The company also produces the Trophy active protection system for armored vehicles and the Spike anti-tank missile family. Rafael's product portfolio spans air, ground, sea, space, and cyber domains.

American corporations dominate the top of the global ranking, with Lockheed Martin leading at first place with $72.137 billion in defense revenue, followed by RTX in second with $46 billion, and General Dynamics in third with $39.4 billion.
