Israel Meteorological Service Warns of Extreme Heat Wave Across Country
Israel's Meteorological Service issued early warnings on Wednesday for an extreme heat event expected to affect the entire country on Thursday, from morning until evening. The warnings range from yellow to orange and red, indicating varying levels of heat stress across different regions.
Yellow heat warnings are in effect for numerous areas, including the eastern Upper Galilee, western Lower Galilee, Jezreel Valley, Menashe Heights, northern coastal plain, northern Sharon, Gush Dan, the Shefela, northern and northeastern Samaria, the Judean Desert's eastern edge, northern, eastern, and southern Negev, and the Eilat Mountains. These warnings are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Additional yellow warnings are expected for Mount Carmel and the southern coastal plain between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Orange heat warnings are anticipated for the southern Golan Heights, eastern Lower Galilee, Hula Valley, northern Judean Desert and Dead Sea area, and Eilat Bay and southern Arava, lasting from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The highest level, a red warning for extreme heat, is forecast for the Beit She'an Valley, Kinneret Basin, Jordan Valley, southern Judean Desert and Dead Sea area, and northern Arava. This red alert is scheduled from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
