Maccabi Haifa Pursues Portuguese Winger Pedro Brazão After Opening Loss
Following a significant defeat in their season opener against rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv, Maccabi Haifa's management has decided to strengthen the team's squad. The club is currently in negotiations to sign 23-year-old Portuguese winger Pedro Brazão, who can also play as an attacking midfielder. Brazão currently plays for Bodrum in the second division of Turkey.
Brazão developed in the youth system of French club Nice, where he also played for the senior team, though he struggled for playing time. He was subsequently loaned to Lausanne in Switzerland and also played for Famalicão in Portugal before moving to Turkey. This season, Brazão has appeared in only three league matches for Bodrum, accumulating 134 minutes without scoring or assisting.
Maccabi Haifa hopes that acquiring Brazão will provide the offensive spark needed by coach Barak Bakhar. The team aims to improve its performance after the disappointing start to the season.
