Maccabi Haifa Plans Defensive Reinforcements, Pedro Unlikely to Continue

Maccabi Haifa has recently strengthened its squad by signing defender Tsunami Wanderson to a two-year contract after he passed medical tests. However, the club is not finished bolstering its roster and is seeking to add another foreign central defender, likely at the expense of Brazilian defender Pedro, who is not expected to continue with the team. Pedro has returned to fitness after a long absence, but concerns over his medical condition during the past season have led the club to consider this move necessary.

The new foreign defender is expected to compete with young Israeli player Noam Shtiefman, who is entering his first senior season. Meanwhile, the club is also evaluating the situation of Manuel Benson, a forward who has yet to return to training. Decisions about Benson’s future are pending, and the club may eventually sign a backup for him.

Regarding the eighth foreign player slot, Maccabi Haifa is undecided. Dixon Mohammed is expected to sign in September but will likely be loaned out. Additionally, two foreign players recently trialed with the youth team have not impressed the club so far.
