Israel's Water Authority announced on Monday that severe turbidity in seawater, caused by adverse weather conditions, has led to the temporary shutdown of some private desalination facilities. Consequently, the authority has instructed a reduction in the supply of fresh water to agriculture in the southern region.
The Water Authority assured the public that the water economy is fully managed, with the Mekorot water company immediately increasing production from all available sources. "According to current estimates, some desalination facilities will soon return to operation," the authority stated.
