Blue Bird Airways Expands Italy Flights, Adds Bologna Route

Blue Bird Airways has announced the launch of regular direct flights from Tel Aviv to Bologna, Italy, significantly expanding its European network for the upcoming autumn travel season. The new route, operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, aims to make travel between Israel and Italy more accessible for independent travelers and tourists.

Flights to Bologna, a major cultural and transportation hub in Northern Italy, start at 128 euros one-way, with round-trip prices varying based on dates and availability. Bologna's excellent rail connections also offer convenient access to other Italian cities like Florence, Modena, and Parma.

This expansion is part of Blue Bird's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Italian market, driven by a perceived growing demand for travel to the region, according to the airline and the "Kavei Hofesh" tourism group. In addition to existing routes to Milan and Bergamo, the airline plans to introduce direct flights to Rome and Naples in mid-September. This will bring Blue Bird's total Italian destinations to five, offering passengers greater flexibility.

Previously, the airline was in the news when its employees reportedly refused to fly to Israel.
