Blue Bird Airways Launches New Flights to Bologna and Other Italian Cities

Blue Bird Airways has commenced regular direct flights between Tel Aviv and Bologna, Italy, starting in September 2026. The airline will operate these flights three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, to meet the increasing demand for travel to Italy ahead of the autumn holiday season and Jewish festivals. Bologna, a significant cultural and transport hub in Northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region, is known for its historic porticoes, the University of Bologna, and architectural sites. Tour operators view Bologna as an ideal base for independent travel and for exploring northern and central Italy due to its excellent rail connections to cities like Florence, Modena, and Parma.

One-way tickets start at 128 euros, with round-trip prices varying based on travel dates and flight availability. This expansion is part of Blue Bird Airways' broader strategy to increase its Italian destinations. The airline already flies to Bergamo and Milan from Israel and plans to add Rome and Naples by mid-September, bringing its total Italian routes to five. Company officials and the "Kavei Hufsha" travel group emphasize that these new services will offer Israeli tourists greater flexibility in planning trips across Italy.
