Trump Says Lebanon War Is Minor, Suggests Syria Handle Hezbollah
US President Donald Trump downplayed the fighting in Lebanon, calling it “minor,” during a meeting with Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France. He said he had told Israel that Syria should “take care” of Hezbollah.
Trump repeated that he did not like the strike in Beirut. “Israel cannot do the job without killing everybody else, so Syria should do the job,” he said, according to the report.
Asked whether he was “disappointed with Netanyahu,” Trump said no. “We have a great relationship,” he added. The comments came as Trump discussed the situation in Lebanon and Israel’s military actions.
