Feiglin Hails Union with Smotrich as 'Real Good News'

Moshe Feiglin, chairman of the Zehut party, expressed strong enthusiasm for the union between his party and the Religious Zionism party led by Bezalel Smotrich. Speaking on Channel 14's "Israel Hayom" program, Feiglin described the merger as "real good news" for the Israeli public, stating, "We are going to charge forward." He emphasized that the union is more than just a technical political alliance; it aims to reach broader segments of Israeli society.

Feiglin explained that the merger seeks to combine the existing political and value-based foundation with what he termed "the generation of victory," which he believes has emerged since the October 7th events. He characterized the union as presenting "the new silver platter of Israeli society."

According to Feiglin, the move is intended to connect young religious Zionists with the general public, breaking down barriers and appealing to religious individuals, secularists, and particularly young people seeking new direction and leadership. He concluded by addressing young supporters of Zehut who feared a return to old politics, assuring them, "You didn't want the old? You got both."
