Former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar is advising a cybersecurity firm, Spring AI, which is assisting an Israeli government body in combating foreign influence operations targeting Israeli elections. Spring AI, founded by veterans of Unit 8200, stated that it helps nations defend against powerful algorithmic influence, citing its work in identifying and countering Chinese algorithmic bias in various countries.
The company confirmed that in building national defense capabilities, they consult with former intelligence and security leaders from Israel and abroad. Spring AI emphasized that, like other democratic nations, Israel faces significant influence campaigns aimed at its government and institutions.
