Pro-Palestinian Group Leaves Anti-Israel Message Instead of Tip for Jewish Waitress
A Jewish waitress in Florida, Sarah Armstrong, received a politically charged message instead of a tip after serving a group of pro-Palestinian customers at Origen restaurant in Dunedin. The group's bill totaled $245, but they left no tip and wrote "Great service, but Free Palestine!" on the receipt.
Armstrong, who was wearing a Star of David necklace, stated that the group's demeanor changed after noticing her jewelry. She described the discovery of the message on the receipt as a "huge shock" at the end of an otherwise good shift.
Following the incident, which was shared by a relative of Armstrong's, a surprising turn of events occurred. Strangers began reaching out to Armstrong, requesting her Venmo details and sending her money to compensate for the lost tip. This outpouring of support from people she didn't know made her feel "even more proud to be Jewish."
