Thai Tour Company Refuses Israeli Family, Citing Guide Unwillingness

An Israeli family planning a trip to Thailand during the upcoming holidays was denied service by a local tour company, GreenLeaf, which operates tours in Khao Yai National Park. When inquiring about a tour for mid-September, the family received an official email stating that after internal discussions, "all guides are no longer interested in leading tours for Israeli tourists." The company then directed the family to alternative agencies.

Liat, the mother of the family, told the Israeli news site Mako that she felt physically ill upon realizing the reason for the refusal, describing feelings of insult, helplessness, and sadness about the cancellation of a dream destination. This incident occurs amidst a wave of complaints and criticism on social media in Thailand directed at Israeli tourists.

Recent weeks have seen reports and documented incidents targeting Israelis in Thailand. Some of these reports have been found to be based on old or inaccurate videos, such as a confrontation between Saudi and Moroccan tourists in Phuket that was mistakenly attributed to Israelis. In response to these events, Israel's embassy in Thailand issued an official clarification, warning that the spread of unverified information unfairly damages the image of Israeli tourists in the country.
